FESTIVAL SELECTION: DOCUMENTING CAMBODIA'S GARMENT INDUSTRY
New short films (4 x 8min) from the M.E.T.A. film school, in cooperation with Better Factories Cambodia/ILO and the Friedrich-Ebert-Foundation. Cambodian film students and international directors look at the current economic downturn viewed through the prism of workers, union representatives, entrepreneurs surrounding the factories and a female Cambodian manager. The films were premiered at the Singapore International Film Festival 2010. They tell human-interest stories and educate people on issues in the garment sector, giving more recognition to the industry and broadening public awareness at the same time. Filmmakers will be present at the screening (Q&A).
