It is also part of the Socio‐Cultural Research Seminar Series conducted by the Graduate Program in Development Studies at the Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP).

The Lecture:

This up‐coming lecture is entitled "Community Mobilization, Environment and Irrigation on the Tonle Sap Floodplain," to be delivered by Dr. John Marston.
Dr. Marston will talk about his current research on community organization around land and water resources in communes in Batheay district, Kampong Cham and Samprouch district in Kampong Thom. In particular, he will talk about how his research relates to the current controversies about "entrepreneurial irrigation" on the Tonle Sap floodplain (especially in Kampong Thom) and the larger issues of environment, community organization, and free enterprise that underlie the controversies.
