@ New Meta House - Cambodian German Cultural Center
#37 Sothearos Blvd. opposite of Buildbright / Phnom Penh centre
Tuesday Aug. 31, 19:00
New short films (2009, 4 x 8 mins) and various documentaries from the M.E.T.A. film school, in cooperation with Better Factories Cambodia/ILO and the Friedrich-Ebert-Foundation. Khmer film students and international directors look at the current economic downturn viewed through the prism of workers, union representatives, entrepreneurs surrounding the factories and a female manager.
Films were premiered at the Singapore International Film Festival 2010. They tell human-interest stories and
educate people on issues in the garment sector, giving more recognition to the industry and broadening public
awareness at the same time.
Filmmakers will be present (Q&A).
