Double Bill with films by Cambodian and foreign filmmakers: Barbet Schroeder's stunning documentary (2007, 135min) is a history of world terrorist movement as told through the story of the enigmatic lawyer Jacques Vergés, who is defending Khieu Samphan at the ongoing Khmer Rouge trial in Phnom Penh. The famous French director takes us down history's darkest paths in his attempt to illuminate the mystery behind Vergés. From the lawyer's inflammatory and provocative cases to his controversial terrorist links, Barbet Schroeder follows the winding trail left by this "devil's advocate." The evening starts with Touch Yin Mony's short documentary ABOUT MY FATHER.
