"THE PEPPERFIELDS" IN KAMPOT: FROM GENOCIDE TO GLOBALIZATION

Phnom Vor mountain in Kampot Province was one of the the last stronghold of Pol Pot's "Khmer Rouge", who continued their bloody guerilla war until 1994. 17 years later three brothers, who are former KR soldiers, grow the best pepper in the world. Students from the M.E.T.A. film school, US director Mark Hammond and his two German colleagues Marc Eberle and Nico Mesterharm have teamed up for the new short documentary THE PEPPERFIELDS, which is commissioned by the German political foundation "Friedrich-Naumann-Stiftung" (FNS). Filmmakers and representatives of FNS will attend the screening (Q&A), which is followed by the German documentary film PEPPER.
