4/26-27 CDRI, International health conference

International health conference, 26-27 April

CDRI is organizing an International Conference on the theme “Improving Health Sector Performance: Institutions, Motivations and Incentives” at the Phnom Penh Hotel on 26-27 April 2010.

This conference is a partnership between CDRI - Cambodia’s leading independent development policy research institute, and Oxford Policy Institute, under funding from DFID-UK.

The conference will explore four main themes: 1) Organisational Arrangements: Purchasing Health Services; 2) Optimal Health Worker Contracts; 3) Managing Doctors and Nurses and 4) Health Consumer Behaviour; which are related to the institutions and incentives that moderate the behaviour of health workers and health service consumers.

The speakers at this conference are researchers, practitioners, and policy makers from both local and international research and academic institutions, and government ministries. This conference will not only give all participants an opportunity to discuss technical matters and the lessons learnt from Cambodia and elsewhere in the region with regard to the set themes, but also provide an opportunity to interact with policy makers and personnel managers, particularly in the health sector, and to make contributions to the outputs.

The conference is only for invited participants.
