Big Stories, Small Towns: Banlung, Ratanakiri
@ Meta House
Ratanakiri is a Cambodian province, located in the remote northeast. Heavily jungled and home to 12 different ethnic minority groups, it has still a real edge-of-the-world feel to it. However, rapid development is altering traditional ways of life.
We invite you to a film night with docus from Ratanakiri, directed by Cambodian & international filmmakers.
For instance, the short film series BIG STORIES, SMALL TOWNS – BANLUNG, RATANAKIRI (2010, 60 mins) explores the impact of the rapid growth of Ratanakiri’s capital Banlung on indigenous Tampuon and Kreung.
All films have English subtitles.
Admission: 2 USD (one drink included). Free for Khmer students.
