The transnational dance organization Khmer Arts will present a free dance concert at its theater in Takhmao, celebrating its 10th anniversary as an organization, the 5th anniversary of the founding of The Khmer Arts Ensemble, and the Khmer New Year.
Founded in 2002 by the award-winning dancer and choreographer Sophiline Cheam Shapiro, Khmer Arts fosters the vitality of Cambodian classical dance across borders and participates in the global conversation of arts and ideas through the development and presentation of compelling works of art. The Khmer Arts Ensemble, the organization’s professional dance company, develops and performs Sophiline’s original choreography as well as rarely seen works from the classical canon on major stages around the world.
The concert will take at the Khmer Arts Theater, Street 115, in Takhmao.
