Road Safety In Cambodia: New Battambang Exhibition Opening
Road safety is a critical issue in Cambodia. The number of crashes, fatalities and disabilities is alarming. Over the last five years, the number of crashes increased by 217% and the number of fatalities almost doubled. CHO (khmer: walk or go) is the title of a group show with a social cause, feat. new works by Hiek Villa, Chhon Ravy, Reoum Sokhom and Vin Sinat from the "Trotchaek Pneik" (khmer: Cold Eyes) collective, as well as senior Battambang artist/animator Poy Chhunly. All of them were trained at the grass roots art school Phare Ponleu Selapak. At 8PM we screen short docs and advocacy films about road safety campaigns. Q&A with the artists and NGO representatives.
